The 2024 World Cadet Games are beginning in Venezuela.

With the presence of nine delegations from brothers countries, the Vice President of Sovereignty, Security and Peace, Chief General Vladimir Padrino López, officially started this Saturday the IV edition of the World Cadet Games-Venezuela 2024, in Caracas.

“The armed forces united through sport and not war,” stressed the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense after opening this event.

From the honor yard of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, in Fort Tiuna, the opening ceremony was adorned with a parade of delegations, the path of the sports brotherhood’s flame, torch lighting, a fireworks show and cultural presentations.

The opening ceremony was accompanied by the high military command, guests, spectators and diplomatic and military attaché corps accredited in the country.

Venezuela, as the host country, is hosting worthy military representatives from the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Republic of Mozambique, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of the Russian Federation, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Türkiye.

In this worldwide championship, military competitors will test their skills in the accompanying disciplines: Track and field, military pentathlon, swimming, orienteering, volleyball, fencing and shooting.

Cadet athletes will be participating in this sporting event until August 24. The event will take place in various military sports facilities located in the Venezuelan capital.

It should be noted that the World Military Cadet Games are organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), made up of 140 member countries. Likewise, its first edition was held in Türkiye in 2010 with the aim of strengthening friendly realtions between the participating countries.
