Cadets from Six Nations Prepare for the Orienteering Race at the IV World Cadet Games

As part of the IV World Cadet Games in Venezuela 2024, an intense practice session of the Orienteering Race was held on Sunday, August 18 in the Pine Forest located at the Tazon Frigorific Complex.

Representatives from six nations, including delegations from the Republic of Nicaragua, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Russian Federation, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Republic of Turkey, and the host country, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, gathered at this iconic space.

These practices are essential for the cadets to familiarize themselves with the terrain and competition modalities that will be contested in this discipline, such as: forest model event, middle distance, sprint model event, male and female sprint relay, in order to optimize their performance in the games.

Military Orienteering, a sport that combines strategy, physical endurance, and the ability to read maps and compasses, has traditionally been used in military training to develop navigation skills in unknown terrains. However, nowadays it has become a sport with multiple modalities that challenge participants to find control points in the shortest time possible.

The IV World Cadet Games in Venezuela 2024 have become an ideal stage for young officers to showcase their skills in various sports disciplines, including Orienteering. The participating delegation, with their tireless preparation, is ready to uphold the country’s name in this exciting competition.
